Overview

Before You Scroll ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our app.

Data We Collect

Most of your data stays on your device. We store locally: your name, mood selections, optimization answers, intentions, notes (Brain Dump), usage thresholds, streak data, Step to Unlock preferences (including settings and a synced step count used only to apply that feature), and preferences. We do not collect personally identifiable information on our servers unless you explicitly choose to sync data.

Step data (Step to Unlock, Premium)

If you enable Step to Unlock, the app may read step count from Apple’s Health framework on your device, with your permission, to apply step-based unlock policy and app usage allowances. Step counts used for this feature are processed on your device. Screen Time usage for your lock list is metered through Apple’s frameworks on device as well. We do not transmit your step counts or Health data to Before You Scroll’s servers for Step to Unlock. You can revoke access anytime in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security → Health → Before You Scroll, or disable Step to Unlock in the app.

Data Sent to Third Parties

To provide personalized quotes and daily inspiration, we send your mood selection and optimization answers to AI services (e.g., Google Gemini). This data is processed according to the provider's terms and our agreements. We do not use this data for advertising or sell it to third parties.

Subscriptions

Premium subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store. We do not store your payment information. Subscription status is managed by Apple and shared with us only to enable premium features.

Analytics

We may use anonymized analytics to improve the app. We do not link analytics to your identity.

Your Rights

You can delete the app at any time to remove all local data. For subscription management, use your Apple ID account settings. For questions or data requests, contact us at hello@beforeyouscrollapp.com.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
